Run Your Rig is operated by Trucking 101 LLC. This policy describes how we handle your information when you use our mobile app or this website.
Account information you provide (email, name, carrier details), loads and stops you create, GPS check-in coordinates you explicitly capture, and rate confirmations you upload for AI parsing.
To operate the app and its features, running your loads, sending paperwork to brokers on your behalf (via AWS SES with your email as Reply-To), and improving our rate-confirmation parser. We do not sell your personal information.
Run Your Rig uses your location in two ways, and you control both.
While using the app:we read your location when you check in at a pickup or delivery stop, and to display your live ETA to dispatch while the app is open. You grant this with the standard “While Using the App” permission.
Always (optional):if you turn on Auto Check-In from the Me tab, the app uses background location to (a) automatically check you in and out as you arrive at and leave a stop's geofence, and (b) keep your shared ETA fresh for dispatch while the phone is in your pocket. We use Apple's significant-location-change API for this — the same low-power path that maps and transit apps use — and we throttle pings to roughly one per minute or per 300 meters of movement, whichever happens first. iOS shows a blue bar at the top of your screen any time the app is using your location in the background.
You can turn Auto Check-In off at any time from inside the app (Me → Location & Automations), or revoke the permission entirely in iOS Settings → Run Your Rig → Location. We never collect background location without the in-app toggle being on and iOS's “Always” permission being granted.
We store each location ping with your account so you can review your check-in history. Pings older than 12 months are aggregated into trip-level summaries (origin, destination, dwell time) and the point-level data is deleted. Background location is never shared with brokers — only the ETA you choose to share on a specific load is sent, and that link is revocable from the app.
Third-party processors required to run the service: AWS (hosting, email, storage), MongoDB Atlas (database), Anthropic (OCR processing), Firebase (push notifications), and Stripe (subscription billing). Each operates under their own privacy commitments.
You can export or delete your data at any time from the app's settings, or by reaching us through our contact form. Load data is retained indefinitely while your account is active; deleted accounts are purged within 30 days of request.
Run Your Rig and Dock Watch share a backend. Facility-level aggregate data (average dwell times, ratings) may flow from Run Your Rig loads into Dock Watch's public facility profiles, but your personal dock notes stay private to your account unless you explicitly opt in to share.
